Finding Rest When You’re Running on Empty

Lately, I’ve been tired. Not just “I need a nap” tired - but a kind of tired that seeps into your bones. The kind that no amount of coffee, vitamins, or early bedtimes can fix.
My body has been struggling with anemia again, which probably explains part of it. But this exhaustion goes deeper than physical - it’s emotional, mental, and spiritual, too. It’s the kind of fatigue that comes from holding everything together when you’re barely hanging on yourself.
A few days ago, I came across Matthew 11:28–29 again:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
And I just sat there staring at it.
Because that’s me. I’m the weary one. The one trying to push through, keep showing up, and keep believing - but feeling the weight of it all.
Jesus doesn’t tell us to fix it first, or to be stronger, or to just keep pushing. He says, “Come to Me.”
Not do more.
Not be better.
Just come.
That word has been echoing in my heart all week. Come to Him - even when you’re weak. Even when your energy is gone. Even when your faith feels tired. Because His rest isn’t just for your body; it’s for your soul.
So that’s where I am right now - learning to rest with Jesus instead of trying to rest from everything else. It’s not about quitting, but about letting Him carry what I can’t.
If you’re feeling that same soul-deep exhaustion today, I just want to remind you: you’re not alone. He sees the heaviness you’ve been carrying, and He’s not asking you to keep dragging it by yourself.
Come to Him. Sit at His feet. Breathe.
He will give you rest. 🌿
💛 With love and grace,
Rose
