Some weeks, life reminds you exactly what matters.
This week, it was this simple truth:
You can glow on the outside… but the real glow starts on the inside.
And if anyone knows this, sis - it’s me.
Let’s talk skincare first (because you KNOW your girl has opinions 😂), and then we’ll talk about the glow that no bottle can buy.
✨ OUTSIDE GLOW: My Ride-or-Die Skincare Picks
I’ve been a skincare girl since I was 14 years old - no joke. While the other girls were using Noxzema, I was over here patting on Estée Lauder like an 80-year-old rich auntie with a trust fund 😭💅🏼.
In my early twenties, working for Estée Lauder was my whole dream. I lived for the counters, the samples, the gorgeous bottles… and honestly? That’s where I learned that skincare is EVERYTHING.
Makeup can only look as good as the skin underneath.
And aging gracefully? Honey… that starts YEARS before the wrinkles show up.
So here are the products that have been with me through everything, from my twenties to my comeback:
⭐ My Ride-or-Die #1: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair
If I could only choose ONE product for the rest of my life?
This. Serum. Right. Here.
Hydration? Check.
Plumpness? Check.
Glow? Check.
Youthful bounce? CHECK CHECK CHECK.
It’s the one product I’ve repurchased more times than I can count - through highs, lows, mistakes, miracles… everything.
⭐ For the Eyes: A Non-Negotiable
Two absolute must-haves — and here’s how I choose between them:
Mary Kay Firming Eye Cream - tightens, smooths, brightens
If funds are low, this is the one I recommend. It works, it’s reliable, and it gives a beautiful lift without breaking the bank.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Supercharged Eye Gel-Cream - honestly a miracle in a jar
But if you can swing it, sis… this one right here? She does not play. The results are NEXT LEVEL.
If you’re over 35, eye cream is not optional, okay? 🫶🏼
And these two? Chef’s kiss.
⭐ Budget-Smart Alternative: Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Line
Listen… if the Estée Lauder price tag feels like a small mortgage payment (because SAME 😂), the Mary Kay TimeWise Repair line is honestly a beast.
Firming, lifting, brightening - and it does NOT play about results.
It’s what I came back to after Jesus saved my life and I rebuilt my routines with purpose and grace.
🌼 My Glow Tips This Week
Cleanse AM + PM (do NOT skip nighttime cleansing)
Moisturize no matter what your skin type is
SPF every single day - no excuses
Add one serum tailored to your needs (vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid)
Be gentle - treat your skin like it’s expensive
Skincare is self-care.
But it’s also stewardship.
It’s saying, “Lord, thanks for this body… help me care well for it.”
✨ INSIDE GLOW: What Jesus Did for My Heart This Week
Now let’s talk about the glow you can’t buy.
The one no serum, moisturizer, or eye cream can manufacture.
The one that comes from being with Jesus - the true source of my glow.
Because sis, I’ve always known this:
Before serums, before routines, before any products… JESUS has always been my real glow.
For some years now, I’ve been waking up early - maybe it’s age, maybe menopause, maybe just the Lord - and instead of fighting it, I meet Him there.
Coffee.
Bible.
Christmas tree lights softly glowing.
The quiet that makes it easier to hear Him.
And this week, as I sat there praying and reading, I felt Him remind me:
“Daughter, this is your glow. It always has been.”
I read Psalm 34:5:
“Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
And then Proverbs 31:30 came to mind:
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
That verse always grounds me.
It reminds me that real beauty - the kind that lasts - is built on reverence, devotion, and a heart anchored in Jesus.
Radiant.
Glowing.
Lit from within - not by products, but by His presence.
And honestly? That’s been the story of my life.
I’ve had seasons where my skincare was flawless but my spirit was tired - and seasons when Jesus carried me through valleys I couldn’t see my way out of.
But the real glow?
The long-lasting glow?
The glow people feel more than see?
That has always come from Him.
🌼 This Week’s Inner Glow Tips
Read one Psalm each morning
Pray out loud (it changes the atmosphere)
Journal something God showed you
Sit in silence for 2 minutes and worship Him (“God, there is none like you…”)
Thank Him for one thing before bed
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be yours.
💛 Grace & Glow Thought of the Week
Take care of your skin, sis…
but never forget the glow that comes from Jesus.
Serums fade.
Results come and go.
But a woman who sits at the feet of Jesus?
She shines from the inside out. ✨
